Below are the specialist assignments for today.  Please see what class your grade level is assigned and then scroll down to read about the assignment.

Activity: After we read the book Perfect Square by Michael Hall, you will make your own creation.

Start with one square piece of paper.
You may cut it, tear it, fold it, or crumple it.

Use your paper to create something new.

When we come back to school, bring your creation to the library to share.

"How I Stay Active" (Writing Activity)

Instructions:  Students are to write a short list or a few sentences about how they stay active outside
of PE class.

  • Please complete:

  • My favorite PE activity is __________________, because ___________________________.

Workout:

Warm Up: 

  • Jumping Jacks- 30 sec.
  • High Knees- 30 sec.
  • Arm Circles-30 sec.

Main Activity:  Fitness Circuit- 3 rounds/ 30  sec. each/ 2 min. rest between rounds

Warm Up: 5 minutes

  • March in place- 30 Seconds
  • Arm Circles- 30 seconds
  • Run in Place- 30 Seconds
  • Reach Up high/ touch toes
  • Silly Shake (wiggle arms and legs)

Main Activity:  Animal Movements Game- 30 seconds each movement/ 2 min. rest 

  • Call out an animal and kids move safely in place
  •  Bunny Hops
  •   Crab Walk
  •   Penguin Waddle
  •   Bear Crawl

 Cool Down: 5 minutes

  • Reach for sky
  • Feet together/ touch toes
  • Feet apart/touch Right  then left toe
  • Feet Apart/ Down to the middle
  • Big Belly breaths (inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth

***Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated***

Activity Instructions: Genre Challenge Bingo

  1. Watch the assigned video. (if it doesn't work, it's ok. You will know what to do with these instructions.) 
  2. Log into Clever and open the Beanstack app (blue icon with a white heart).
  3. Scroll and find GENRE CHALLENGE Bingo.
  4. Tap on the challenge.
  5. Under the title within the challenge in the middle of the screen, you will see Overview, Bingo Card, and Badges.
  6. Tap on Bingo Card.

On the Bingo Card, you will see 9 genre badges you can earn.
Each badge focuses on a different genre and includes 3 activity questions.

Your job:

  • Explore the different genres
  • Answer the questions for the genre badge when you finish your book
  • Read 20–30 minutes (or more!) today. 

Our goal is to “go to new heights” and earn the reward—so read, explore new genres, and have fun!

Today's Guidance lesson is about good sportsmanship.  Watch and listen to the video and think about what it means to be a good sport when you are playing a game or competing in a sport.  You don't need to write or draw anything to turn in to me for a grade.

Warm Up: 5 minutes

  • Lunge with Twist- 5 each leg
  • High Knees- 30 sec.
  • Arm Circles- 30 sec. forward/30 sec. backwards
  • Air Punches- 30 sec.

Main Activity:  Fitness Circuit- 5 rounds/ 30 sec. each/ 2 min. rest between rounds

  • Jumping Jacks
  • Lunges
  • Push Ups
  • Squats
  • Planks

 Cool Down: 5 minutes

  • Hamstring Stretch- Reach for toes while keeping legs straight
  • Feet apart/touch Right  then left toe
  • Feet Apart/ Down to the middle
  • Shoulder Stretch- Bring one arm across body and gently pull
  • Childs Pose- Kneel on floor and extend arms forward, relaxing in the stretch
